Fyrlink is led by Dr. Imran Ahamed, a Chartered Professional Engineer in structural and fire safety engineering, with over 10 years of experience across research, fire testing, assessments, and consultancy. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, specialising in structural engineering, and a PhD in Structural Fire Engineering from Queensland University of Technology.

Imran has strong technical expertise in fire testing and assessment standards, with extensive experience in interpreting and applying both Australian and international frameworks. He has overseen numerous product and system assessments, supporting manufacturers in bringing compliant solutions to market. This work involves detailed upfront planning, coordination of fire testing programs, rigorous analysis of test data, and the preparation of robust fire engineering assessments.

He has also been involved in a wide range of performance-based structural fire engineering designs across various structural systems. His work focuses on establishing the structural adequacy of systems under fire conditions and developing designs with optimised fire protection specifications to achieve compliance while remaining practical and efficient.
